InstructionTitle – Give your paper a title that is informative and catchy. Introduction (200 – 300 words ) – Introduce your paper by discussing your product and what it is used for. You may want to briefly touch on why you chose this product, how many people use the product, the historical roots of the product and/or any other interesting facts you find about the product. You should also introduce that you will be discussing the role of chemistry in your product and the impacts of your product on society. Chemistry’s Role in Your Product (300 to 450 words) – You should choose one or two ways in which chemistry has played a role in your product (listing many roles of chemists but not discussing them in detail will not make for a strong paper). You could discuss how chemists helped make or improve the product including research currently being done to advance your product. You should go into detail on one or a small number of roles of chemistry. Chemistry plays some role in many products. Be sure to choose a product where you are aware of some role of chemistry. Some examples include pharmaceuticals or drugs of abuse, fuels, electronics, cosmetics, detergents and personal hygiene products, anything made of plastic or many other materials or fabrics, agricultural/food products (fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, etc.), nanotechnology or anything else you like.
