InstructionChoose one of the two prompts given below and write a 3-4 (APA format) page analysis outlining the legal issue(s) presented, the relevant statutes, policies, and case law, and other readings using the IRAC (Issue, Rule, Application, Conclusion) format. The student will apply the principles of law to the hypothetical situation to answer the specific question posed. ***Please FOLLOW the format attached*** 1. A student comes to school wearing a "Donald J. Trump Border Wall Construction Co." t-shirt. The student was removed from class for refusing to cover his shirt after school officials said the shirt "offended" other students and teachers. Subsequently the principal gave the student a choice to remove the shirt or go home. The student went home and was charged with a suspension. Does the student have a constitutional right to wear the shirt? Does the school have the right to suspend if it can "reasonably forecast that the speech will materially and substantially disrupt the school or violate another student's rights to exist in a safe and secure environment." 2. A 17 year old Florida high school student was forced to put Band-Aids on her breast because she wasn't wearing a bra which was "distracting" her classmates. A female teacher initiated the action by telling the student to put on another shirt (two layers) then taking the student to the school nurse who gave her the band-aids. The female principal sent the student home when she became emotional over the incident. The school policy prohibits clothes or grooming that "distracts the attention of other students or teachers from their school work," and principals or their designee will decide the clothes/appearance create "a climate that is distracting to learning." Was the school justified in its actions?
