  • Again i paid 85$ and the work can't have A feedback from the professor You have a good start here, but need to rework some major aspects of the paper. It’s important that your paper be focused around a thesis that synthesizes information found in your literature review- you should come to some sort of clear and comprehensive conclusion other than a summary. For example, your thesis could center around the different reasons that children lie, but this needs to be a clear and strong thread throughout your paper. Your introduction should set the reader up for the rest of your paper. It should be more general (no “for instance” or mentioning specific studies yet)- start general and narrow your topic down until your concluding sentence of the introduction paragraph, which should be your thesis. Your conclusion should not just be a summary- it should give us the bigger picture and the “so what”- why should we care about this topic? Why does it matter?

  • Another big issue is that you need to have many more citations than you currently do. You state a lot of “facts” that need to be backed up with a citation. It’s unclear to me where you received most of the information in your paper. On that note, you make a lot of sweeping statements (such as “children always”, etc.) which are not appropriate for an academic paper like this. You cannot prove “always” statements. Try working in language like “may, can, tend to” etc. When you introduce a study, don’t add in the citation with parentheses in the middle of the sentence. You can say something like “one study found……..” (CITE) or you can say “Garris and Fleck, 2020, found that…..”. [You also need to cite the Hobart video in text!] It’s also important that you refine the layout of your paper. I would steer clear of just using each paragraph to define another reason why children lie.

Try incorporating subheadings for different subtopics (i.e. lying for one reason vs. lying for another). In addition, your paragraphs need to be much shorter. A paragraph should never exceed ⅔ of a page. You will also want to steer clear of lyrical or anecdotal writing. Your anecdotal examples probably don’t have a place in academic writing. I would also avoid using direct quotes, contractions, questions, first person (“we”) and casual language such as “things.” I would also just read through your paper out loud and see where some sentences don’t quite make grammatical sense.

  • Last, I have just a few mechanical notes: APA 7 student papers no longer require a running header, so you should take that out. On the title page, your title should be bolded, and you should also include the course title, instructor’s name, and due date. The References page should be its own page and the titles generally should not have periods after them. Also, make sure that all of your in text references have dates (not just author’s names)!
