InstructionTopic 7 prompt: There are three topics I would like you to address for this discussion board. For full credit, please address all three with at least 100 words per prompt (so a minumum of 300 total) and check for spelling, grammar or typos before submitting. And at the end of your post, do not forget to post a question to others. And finally,do not forget to respond to a post from a fellow student with at least three thoughtful sentences. (so if you are the first to post, you may have to wait to reply to others) Topic 1: After watching the assigned video, Skin Deep, describe the evidence it provides to support the fact that race is not a biologically valid category and how this newer theory provides a better understanding of evolution's role in determining skin color. What did previous theories that focus only on vitamin D and skin cancer miss? Topic 2: From the required reading, give at least two examples of how scientists in the 1800's and early 1900's participated in the reification of race. Who were these scientists and what were their ideas? Topic 3: Describe what it means when physical anthropologists studying human diversity tell us that the vast majority of human genetic variation exists within populations rather than among populations. Please think hard about this question and how evolution works :)
