InstructionTake a look at this TED talk, “Everything is Connected – Here’s How” by Ted Chi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPh3c8Sa37M, paying particular attention to 10:17-17:48 min, in which he uses the piano as an example of human connectedness. Chi then describes our “palettes of being” (as if we are painters with a palette) and the way we are in our lives (with our friends, family, and others) as a force that changes the way others can “paint” the future and effect the atmosphere and environment. Chi further explains that our “gift of consciousness” allows us to deeply understand that our hearts, breath, and mind are connected. While this idea is present in many religious traditions, he observes, it is also a fact of science. What do you think? What connections can you make between this and Graziano’s “How Consciousness Works?” 800+ words, two brief citations per page.
