In the example of Dr. Bergstrom’s work in this week’s Nursing Research Spotlight, the researchers’ findings show that our “status quo” of turning patients every two hours may no longer be warranted by the evidence. Of course, more research studies of this type are needed to validate the study’s results before practice implementation. However, can you think of other commonly used practices in your workplace that may not be founded on the latest research evidence? Papers will be brief and written from a first-person or third-person perspective due to the reflective nature of the writing prompt. Therefore, students may use the words I, me, or my in this reflective paper if desired. Title pages and abstracts are not required for this assignment. However, all other APA formatting guidelines will apply for this paper. Students should submit their assignments as a Microsoft Word document. No other file types will be accepted for grading. A reference page with corresponding in-text citations are required. At minimum, students must reference one peer-reviewed resource not including the course textbook for this reflection paper. The body of the paper addressing the question will be no more than one page in length (not including the reference page). Papers longer than one page in length will incur point deductions.
