This Paper will consist of four parts: 1) In the first part you will conduct a brief literature review about your selected topic (5-8 resources, 2 of which can be your text books). 2) The second part will include information on what you observed in the classroom. This could be based on field notes about observations of the students, conversations with the classroom teacher, conversations with the students, field notes based on focused observations with a particular student, assessment methods applied, etc. You will connect what you found in your literature review with what you observed in the classroom. 3) Finally, you will reflect on what you learned. What are the implications of your focused observations for your future practice as a teacher of English language learners? For example, rather than simply describing classroom activities, include your impressions as to how the classroom activities relate to material you have studied. Make specific references and connections to readings. I am looking for you to put deeper consideration into the reasons behind what you saw, implications of your observations, your thoughts (without being overly judgmental), connections to your own experiences, and especially, connections you make to what you have learned in this and other classes and how what you learned will impact your teaching. 4) Include an appendix with your field notes from each class observation.
