Instruction
Here is the instructions for the discussion Why did experimental psychology emerge in Germany and not elsewhere? How might the development of psychology be different if it had emerged in the U.S.? Explain your answer thoroughly and use the textbook to support your response.
Here is the instructions for the thought paper Instructions: The objective of this thought paper is to relate one or more concepts from our discussion of Attention & Encoding (Chapter 3) to something that has happened in your life. (This can include events that have happened to friends and family, if it makes sense to write about them.) Importantly, I don't want you to spend a lot of time defining or explaining a bunch of terminology - but do provide a simple description of the concept(s) at some point in the paper so I know you have a basic understanding of the concept(s) you are attempting to discuss.
Importantly, I want you to try to dig deep and relate stuff from your life to SPECIFIC ideas you have learned about attention and/or encoding. In other words, I want you to avoid a generic discussion of only the most vague concepts that you probably were already familiar with. For example, discussing feature-oriented processing is much better than a broad discussion of "paying attention” in general.
