This is research outline and i need you to write me 2 pages about the Benefits and 2 pages about the Costs Outline Research Proposal: Additional parking provided for faculty, staff, students and visitors. We want more available parking spaces for everyone at Methodist and also for the visitors that come and go to our campus. Possibly more convenient parking spaces for students so they dont result in parking in a faculty spot then receiving a ticket. Or spend more than 10 minutes trying to find a parking spot arriving to classes late especially for commuters. This topic is important because it benefits not only the students at Methodist but also faculty, staff and visitors. There will be less problems for all parties finding a parking spot. Also itll help create a more convenient environment. As mentioned before, it affects faculty, staff, students and visitors tremendously. Having this issue fixed will result in less complications, frustration and late arrivals to classes. Methods The research of the topic will be shown through at least 100 surveys filled out by students, an interview with either a faculty or staff member and observations are easily done as us students experiencing this problem every day which can also been shown through the survey results. We will randomly ask a handful of students either on a sports team or multiple classes that have a larger quantity in students. Possible questions: Morning vs. Day vs. Night student, how long it takes to find parking spots, or on campus or off campus parking. The results will be shown through some type of graph or just worded by the most common results. Benefits As stated before it can benefit faculty and staff from students not taking their spots so they arent struggling to find a new one or in general trying to find closer parker especially for those who are older so they dont have to walk very far. The main target as well is students. If this issue is fixed it can benefit students tremendously by creating less of a struggle to find parking spots before class instead of arriving late because none can be found. Especially for commuters, they have no choice than to drive all around campus when those who do live on campus can walk instead of drive. Also it creates that more convenient environment so incoming student who are looking into coming to Methodist visit during the day can see that parking isnt an issue when going to class. Detriments There would be no reason for this to negatively affect faculty or staff because it gives them more parking spaces/claimed spots so students dont have to turn to parking in their spot due to none being found and running late to class. It wouldnt negatively affect students either because it saves us more time in finding somewhere to park as well as many options so we dont have to walk extremely far to class from our cars. The only issue for the community of Fayetteville is not having enough parking spots. Especially for families and visitors who come to sporting events or whatever event that goes on, on campus. Once this issue is fixed it will benefit them in not having to walk very far to the football field, basketball court or to any location on campus. Costs More available parking may be costly due to the amount of time and pavement used to cover an area. If this issue is advertised maybe donators can be more aware what is being a problem on our campus and will want to contribute some of their financial support to put towards this great change. Also maybe a group of students such as SAC or any other organization can help raise money to collect funds to put towards an issue many students feel strongly for. Start Date and Implications The change for more parking spaces can be easily done over the summer so it doesnt effect the students, faculty, staff and visitors from moving easily in and out of campus. Also the weather wont affect the process of it versus during the winter. Or it can be a long process done efficiently and safely throughout the year(s). Since many already feel strongly about this topic, the news about the change wont have to be advertised greatly. But can easily be done through a big announcement done by our president, Dr. Ben Hancock, through new student orientations, emails, or programs done in Huff Hall. Many may question where this additional parking will take place or if off campus would be a possibility which can run into many problems taking a shuttle. But the process of this change will have to be very carefully to make the most effective plan for everyone at Methodist. Sustain The idea has always been brought up by many students because they know how much it can benefit them as a full time student. So if its not done soon the change will most likely be done in the near future wen more students, faculty and staff start to see it as more of a problem. Group Recommendation/Summary The students, faculty, staff and our guest of Methodist will benefit from additional parking to create less frustration when trying to find a parking sport before class or during a sporting event. It also creates a more inviting environment for those who are deciding to become part of the Monarch family.
