Instruction
Pretend to Interview 2 people age 55 years old or older. You will write a paper in which you summarize the responses and compare the responses to the information described in class and in the readings. Your paper will be no more than 8 double-spaced pages.
Page 1 of your paper should include demographic information for each of the people you interviewed (see the list of questions on the interview question page) IN PDF BELOW. To preserve the confidentiality of your respondents, please refer to them only by their first names both here and throughout your paper.
Pages 2-7 of your paper will address the 6 key content questions you ask your interviewees (see the list of questions on the interview question page). Each question should be answered separately on its own page (i.e., you have a max of one page per interview question). Each page should have the following format:
At the top of each page, briefly rewrite the question/ topic
Describe what you have learned about that topic in our class
Describe the responses that your interviewees provided.
State whether or not the interviewee’s responses matched the information you learned in class. If appropriate, speculate why the interviewee’s responses varied from the material learned in class.
Page 8 of your paper will address the “bonus” question: “What are the most important lessons you have learned in life”. Because of this, the format of your write-up for this question will also be different than the prior questions.
At the top of each page, briefly rewrite the question/ topic
Describe the responses that your interviewees provided.
Briefly reflect on how this assignment has helped (or not) your understanding of the psychology of aging.
You are limited to the page limits specified above. I will only read/grade the information presented within the page limits. Your paper should be double spaced, written in Times New Roman, size 12 font. Borders should be set to 1 inch on all sides. I assume the information you provided will come from the textbook and lectures, so you do not need to provide citations to the textbook/ lectures. HOWEVER, please be sure to put the information in your own words. Copying text word-for-word from any source is considered plagiarism.
* REMINDER THE INFO FROM THE INTERVIEW IS MADE UP!
