Week 1 - Discussion 2 Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of your responses. Refer to the Discussion Forum Grading Rubric under the Settings icon above for guidance on how your discussion will be evaluated.

Category: Business
Due Date: 28/10/2021
Instruction
Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, read Chapter 2: Purchasing Management in the textbook and the article, How Your Procurement Process Can Give You a Competitive Advantage. To a great extent, purchasing and materials management are becoming strategic business functions. Explain why this is true. Consider the following when forming your initial post: How does a company’s approach to purchasing affect its profitability? Why would a company choose to outsource materials or services rather than produce it themselves? Can you think of a company that does materials management well? Why do you think so? Your answer should be 200 to 250 words in length. Text Wisner, J. D., Tan, K.-C., & Leong, G. K. (2019). Principles of supply chain management: A balanced approach (5th ed.). Cengage.
