Action Research Project: Evaluation Model Action Plan PowerPoint presentation
There is a distinct tendency not to think about how to evaluate the results of a project until after the
project is complete or when a project has run up on the shoals of highly visible difficulty. In fact, the
best time to build an evaluation of an action research project is when it is being formulated.
This Assignment involves you formulating an evaluation model, one that shows clearly how to
develop an evaluation system when a project is being planned. There is no requirement in this
Assignment to apply an example to your model; instead you may assume you are creating a model
action plan that will likely meet the needs of any project and it should include "evaluation" within each
phase (Look, Think, and Act) of the Action Research process.
For a projects outcome to be successful you must have a good plan and a focus on creating a team
that is motivated and capable, one that is willing to be organized, follow the rules and create
fellowship with each other. Including evaluation throughout the action research project cements
ongoing understanding of expectations.
The Stringer text, Chapter 6, pp. 140144 and Chap. 7, pp. 161164 has some information regarding
evaluation. Use the Kaplan Library and outside sources to find relevant quality sources to support
your evaluation action plan.
Do not assume that you will find someone else's Model Action Plan for Evaluating Results as this is
the objective of this Assignment, for you to create the answer, not for you to use someone else's
answer. Basically, you are addressing the following question when creating an evaluation model for
each and every phase of Look, Think. and Act: "is what I am doing now going to be worth my effort
when I arrive at the end and look back at the entire project?"
Stringer (2007) reminds us that by systematically revealing the reality of peoples experience of
problematic events, and planning concerted action that deals with the real issues affecting peoples
lives, you can achieve effective solutions that improve the quality of those lives (p. 142). In that spirit,
construct your PowerPoint presentation as a way to examine Action Research as a method of
improving organizations and people.
Your PowerPoint presentation: One of the challenges of action research is how to create fresh,
imaginative ways to capture and present information. Your objective is to create a presentation that
engages the "audience" because the presentation is attractive, and places most of the interpretive
process on those receiving the data. When creating your PowerPoint presentation, investigate and
apply best practices in presenting information. It is a graded required for you to use BOTH THE
SLIDES AND THE NOTES functions/features in PowerPoint.
