Instruction
The questions are not meant to be short answer questions. You are to develop the answers fully and be complete as possible. The intent should not be brevity, by the same token, giving me a bunch of BS will be obvious. The answers are all found in the assigned readings in the textbook. You should work these questions up in advance and go over them thoroughly. Of course you will not be allowed to bring notes into the testing center.
1. Following the discussion in the textbook, you should be prepared to discuss the five elements of American values. (hint - see topic political culture and American values)
2. Following the discussion in the textbook, you should be prepared to compare and contrast the concepts of liberalism, conservativism, socialism, and libertarianism.
3. Following the discussion in the textbook, you are to be prepared to discuss the elements/nature of a unitary systgem, confederal system, and a federal system.
4. Following the discussion in the textbook, you are to be able to trace and develop the evolution of our federal system from dual federalism through conflicted federalism.
5. Following the discussion in the textbook, you should be prepared to answer the question presented as to the wisdom of the United States devolving to dual federalism. Makesure that you are fully prepared to look at both the yes and no justifications and the topic of other approaches.
