You can choose from one of these Intro to Drama Text of Hamlet A Midsummer Night's Dream The Great Gatsby Personal response/reflection 1. At what point in your reading and viewing did you, as an audience member, experience catharsis? Explain. (10 points) 2. Give at least two examples of Aristotle’s term mimesis (what themes/events mimic/imitate our realities/life events, emotions, etc.) in this play. (20) 3. Choose a character. When did you feel pity and fear for that person? (10) 4. Was there one character that you related to his/her situation more than the others? Choose one and please explain how you related to his/her situation. (10) 5. At what point in the play does the character you chose experience anagnorisis and peripetai. Explain your answers with sound reasoning and the text. (20)
