Database Assignment: Complete the attached SQL queries using the Adventureworks database attached here. You will need to use MS-SQL server to load and do the queries (instructions on how to download and install SQL Server Express are included). The Adventureworks Database is being used for this lab, and you can download the SQL Server Express and Management Studio 2012 without having to install the entire SQL Server 2014 program (SQL Server Express is free). The lab5 pdf contains the instructions on downloading the program. If you have problems you may want to install SQL Express 2008 R2 as it will work on Windows 7 and 8. Make sure to run as Admin. After installing you may need to re-start your computer to make sure that the SQL database service is running. Make sure to carefully follow the directions in the lab. You will need to download the following 3 files, and install in the listed order since that seems to work fine: 1. ENU\x64\SqlLocalDB.MSI 2. ENU\x64\SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe 3. ENU\x64\SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe (when you install this file, you will be adding features to an existing installation). Lastly, you will need to extract the Adventureworks files into the Data directory in program files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.sqlexpress\data if you do NOT you will not be able to attach the database file to SQL Server

The Adventureworks Database is being used for this lab, and you can download the SQL Server Express and Management Studio 2012 without having to install the entire SQL Server 2014 program (SQL Server Express is free). The lab5 pdf contains the instructions on downloading the program.

If you have problems you may want to install SQL Express 2008 R2 as it will work on Windows 7 and 8. Make sure to run as Admin. After installing you may need to re-start your computer to make sure that the SQL database service is running.

  • How about this deal, would you be open to taking a 10 question multiple choice quiz online ( a b c d)? It would take probably 10-15 mins at most. Theres previous quizzes you can look at. If you feel comfortable that you are able to get close to all 10 question correct you can do it and il pay the 65$ you ask. Would that be something youd be open to?
