300 Words. The purpose of this assignment is to help you develop a topic and a question for research for the Annotated Bibliography, and the Research Essay. For your research prospectus, you should write a narrative of your preliminary inquiry process that details your experimentation with keywords and phrases, what kinds of hits were generated by your keywords in the databases, what research question youve selected, and how you intend to approach that question during the research process. You may draw on the work you completed for the Topic Development Exercise and that you did when reviewing the Preliminary Inquiry Page. How you intend to approach the topic will be through a specific research method and additional keyword terms. A research method is a particular perspective you will take towards your topic, which helps you evaluate different research materials and determine what kinds of evidence will help you best accomplish your goals.
