I need help correcting my literary analysis for a final grade. These are the remarks I got from the teacher. You have a good start, but there are a few things you need to address: Avoid using 1st person (we, my, our, us etc.) Clarify your thesis--your intro is pretty general. Try to make it really clear. Avoid asking questions in your paper. quire?? (top of page 2) Use specific examples from the novel and the article(s) Pay close attention to paragraph development. Avoid contractions You stray from the novel too much...avoid the jungle, Langston Hughes, and focus on the novel You need to put the novel, or an aspect of the novel, under the metaphorical microscope. Instead you are dealing with general social issues. Focus on the novel more.
