Instruction
I have a homework in physics: (a) A file is attached with two situations detailed. Read the paper carefully and answer it. For this exercise, you may consult each other if you desire, but you must set up your own problems and solutions. The paper is worth 30 points. (b) For the second part, write an essay on the following topic: "Pitfalls and errors in Mechanics, Fluids, Heat and Thermodynamics". Discuss any possible errors, dangers, traps and mis-steps in solving problems in the above areas along with what you should do or should not do. An example is the sign (+ or -) error I frequently talk about. Include as many examples as you can. The essay must be typed, double-spaced, in a normal font-size of 12 or 13 and must be between 3 and 5 pages. If you need equations, you can write them by hand, carefully, if you prefer. For the essay, you can consult others if you wish, but you must write it in your own words. I think you are by now aware that I am quite able to detect joint work and I must severely warn you against copying from each other. I will not even consider any paper that constitutes joint work. The essay is worth 40 points. For both parts (a) and (b) above, if you use material from the internet, you MUST provide an appropriate citation or reference.
