(my essay)
The literature considers Johannes Gutenberg as the person who had the greatest impact on Western civilization after the fall of the Rome that was around (1398-1468). His inventions remain to be more major inventions until today particularly in the bookmaking industry. The significance of these inventions is crucially overstated especially when considering the high civilization of the ancient world that never had any form of printing machine innovated before then. Nevertheless, it is for this reason that I find Johannes Gutenberg's invention of greater impact and significance on western civilization than any other invention made after the fall of Rome and prior to 1715.
I would also consider Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) as an important person in the history of western civilization because the nature of his natural geniality crossed so many disciplines that he epitomized the term "Renaissance Man." Today, he remains best known for his art, including two paintings that remain among the world's most famous and admired, Mona Lisa and The Last Supper (Deming, 2012). History has it that Leonardo da Vincis art showed his connection with the nature or rather natural things. His ideas put on papers on his artistic work such of those of the bicycle, helicopter, and airplane, were great, and they also contributed to the western civilization. Leonardo da Vinci is mostly remembered for such great artistic ideas that later contributed to the western civilization.
