Ten points will be deducted for each violation of these instructions.
In addition, there shall be no quoting whatsoever. Every word in each essay must be your own wording.
Each essay is worth 100 points. Overall, the mid-term is worth 200 points (20 percent of the final grade).
Each essay should be between 500 and 600 words. Points will be deducted if an essay is shorter than 500 words or longer than 600 words.
Please use spell-check. Please edit your essays. Please follow the rules of English grammar and composition. Please see the material on proper English usage on the class web site.
When you submit your exam, the Sakai system will automatically provide a grade of "zero." Please do not panic. This simply means that the exam has been submitted but not yet graded.
Your exam will be automatically submitted to TurnItIn.com. Plagiarized exams will receive a grade of zero and will be reported to APUS officials. Do not plagiarize.
The following sources are not acceptable: Wikipedia, FactMonster.com, Boundless.com. sparknotes.com--or any similar type of source. Acceptable sources include the lesson notes, books, academic journal articles, credible newspaper articles, and credible magazine articles.
