Instruction
I need it to done this assignment before 9 hours.
First Essay Due- At the end of this unit, students will create an essay evaluating historical, gender, racial, religious, economic, psychological, or sociological forces in a work for children. As an overall thesis for the paper, students should provide a multifaceted answer as to what these social forces tell us about the work. This essay will be evaluated on the basis of overall organization, grammar/mechanics, and style.
I have placed two links below. The first is a biography of Rudyard Kipling, the second is a story for children by Kipling.
We will be reading and brainstorming to answer this next question in children's literature-
Second Essay Due- Students will construct an essay arguing which realistic forces are being parodied, critiqued, or examined in an animal tale, a work of fantasy, or a work of science fiction (choose one). The students will examine six different realistic forces being examine by an author/director and construct their essay using the six terms as the basis for six body paragraphs.
In the case of Kipling, he is examining childhood, parenthood, violence, and other realistic forces. You are to watch the video and read the story and then construct a list of eight realistic forces with examples of each to help us begin your next essay.
Finally, no class this week due to meeting and traffic/travel malaise. We will meet on Monday- you bringing your brainstorm list for the next essay and I'll have your rough drafts with comments ready.
Good Luck-
