Global Issue Paper For this assignment you will complete a three to five page paper summarizing a current (last ten years) poverty and/or discrimination issue taking place anywhere in the world. These do not need to be global crises, they can be an event or situation that has taken place or is taking place in your home state or hometown it just must be newsworthy so you have media coverage to present and discuss. In the paper you will discuss the issue, frame it (why is it significant or important) using material discussed in class and from your text, and explain why the issue is significant to you. The paper must be neatly typewritten in 12 point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and with one inch margins on all sides. Medium weight paper must be used and print must be consistently dark enough to read. The paper will lose points if it does not follow this format and late papers will be penalized five points (one-half a letter grade) for each day late, including weekend days. Any graphs, tables, or images do not count towards page requirements.
