Write an essay on the life and two major/significant works of a composer. The first portion of your essay will consist of biographical information. You will want to include details about the composers life story as well as world events that may have been significant to their career as an artist. Examples would be: World War I, the American Revolution, the invention of movable type, etc The second part of your paper consists of a description of two major/significant works by your composer. Discuss at least three musical elements as well as historical information about each piece. PLAGIARISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Re-write or paraphrase your source material into your own words. Anyone caught copying and pasting off of a website will fail this assignment. Choose any one composer from this list for your essay: Hildegard von Bingen Guillaume de Machaut Josquin des Prez Thomas Tallis Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina William Byrd Toms Luis de Victoria John Dowland Claudio Monteverdi Barbara Strozzi Arcangelo Corelli Georg Friedrich Hndel Niccol Paganini Gioacchino Rossini Frdric Chopin Fanny Mendelssohn Felix Mendelssohn Robert Schumann Clara Schumann Antonn Dvok Giacomo Puccini Gustav Mahler Claude Debussy Maurice Ravel Carl Orff Arnold Schoenberg Benjamin Britten Arvo Prt
