The Persuasive Speech Objective: Your goal in this speech is to persuade us to take action, to change an attitude, belief, or value and/or to move or inspire us to a new way of thinking. You must carefully choose your topic and construct a speech within which you make an argument that is well articulated and supported. For guidance in writing a persuasive speech, please consult your class notes and your textbook. Time range: 7-8 minutes Requirements: one page speech outline must be given to the instructor on the day you speak. Outline must include your general topic, a brief thesis or purpose statement, a summarization of your introduction, your 2-3 main areas of analysis, a summarization of your conclusion and a bibliography. Outlines must be typed. Support materials: you must refer to a minimum of 3 outside sources in your presentation.
