Instruction
In this module you will work on drafting your formal Project Proposal Document. The basic elements of the proposal are shown in this section. You should understand that this early document is, of necessity, fairly general based upon the early stage of your activity; subsequent research may cause you to refine the project scope. As such, don't try to over-specify such things as timelines or analytical focus. These can be stated fairly generally and will certainly become better defined later in the semester as you fully engage with the sponsoring organization or researcher problem.
Once developed, this document should be sent to your instructor for final approval. Once you receive approval, send this on to your project sponsor.
Objectives:
Develop a formalized capstone project proposal;
Obtain approval from your project sponsor (applies to projects where there is a specific organizational client or sponsor);
Obtain feedback & ultimate approval from your project advisor;
Identify some of the initial information that you will be collecting is a part of your research.
Assignment: Project Proposal Completion
Submit your completed proposal and receive feedback from your faculty advisor.
Please see the Project Proposal word document template for submittal. This template is summarized in the text document. The Initial Capstone Project Proposal template can also be found as a separate document within Module 2, as well as in 'Resources'.
Note: If you're project involves an entrepreneurial start up or industry issue analysis, feel free to modify or supplement the information requested in the template with categories that make sense within the context of your project. Discuss this with your advisor.
The main point here is to simply develop a formalized document where you can communicate and receive signoff from both your faculty advisor as well as potential organizational sponsors if your project exists within a real work organization.
