choose one of those stories(A &P by"John Updike")or(The Lottery. by"Shirley Jackson")or (the Storm)or(A clean well-Lighted Place. by "Ernest Hemingway")or(Death of Salesman__ willy Loman House)
William Faulkner once said that the thing most worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself (which is basically a psychological conflict).
Choose a character from one of the short stories or plays we have read and discuss how that character demonstrates a heart in conflict with itself: what is the conflict, how does the character deal with it, does the character deal with it, is the conflict ever resolved, etc.--these are just a few of the ways you may/can approach this topic.
The paper should be about 1000-1200 words and, of course, should follow MLA guidelines--use good writing etiquette! Also, you should use several quotes for support of what you say (at least 7-10). In other words, think about all the things we have gone over when you have written an in-class paper (and the one out-of-class paper). And always, there are sample papers in the back of the book.
