Critical Response Essay In a 3 to 4 page essay, provide a critical response to one or more of the works we have covered or will cover in class. The purpose of this assignment is to help students develop a polemical engagement with scholars working on the same or related topic. For the essay, you should clearly identify writers claim, supporting evidence, and critique of writers position. Remember, essays should have a clearly defined thesis and at least three examples of supporting evidence. Not including primary texts, you must refer to two outside sources, limited to books and scholarly articles. Conform to MLA or APA format guidelines. Your essay should be free of grammatical errors, so revise and edit before submitting your work. SAMPLE OUTLINE---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intro 1. Personal narrative/general information about text 2. Locate thesis or argument in text 3. locate points of evidence 4.
