I did write an assignment about ( Porter's Five Forces Model) and my professor asked my to edit it because it is not compelet as well as she want it.
this is what I wrote " An article by Michael E. describes the porter's five forces has a simple but powerful tool which shows the strengths of a business as well as its weaknesses. It opens up investors minds enabling them to know where the strengths of their current position and the strengths of the position they are considering moving towards. Porter's five forces tool shows investors the weaknesses they have in their current venture and how they can improve them thus avoiding making a wrong move which might result in the loss (Michael 13). According to this article, the tools are also used to determine the life of a new product which has joined the market. The tools can tell whether the product will be profitable and how long it can take for the product to start bringing in profits. Also, it can determine the future of a product in the market.Five forces tool works through assumption. It assumes there are five significant forces that determine competition power in the market. The skills include supply power, buyer power, a threat of substitution and threat of new entry. Supplier power examines how easy it can be for suppliers to raise the prices of commodities (Michael 22). This is influenced by the number of vendors, their strength in controlling each other and the uniqueness of their services and products. The buyer power looks at how consumers can control prices, how quickly they can make prices go down. Competitive rivalry looks at the number of competitors and the effect they can have on you. More competitors mean less power on one manufacturer yet few competitors say more power and strength on one manufacturer. The threat of substitution can be affected by the ability of your competitors to get a different way of doing what you do. The threat of new entry is affected by the ability of new people entering your market. After considering all these factors, one can make a conscious decision which will help them do the right thing and make the right moves."
