Deliverable Length: 1,000–1,500-word proposal
Details: Your company, VMedia, has hired an outside consultant to come in and assess job descriptions and roles as well as the way the employees at your company work together. You have been told that no positions will be eliminated at this time, but some positions may be redefined to reflect better working/partnering practices.
For this consultation, you have been asked to think about your role as the advertising director at VMedia. There is a marketing director and a public relations director at corporate headquarters but not a marketing and advertising communications department. You tend to handle much of the copywriting needs, but you outsource your design needs.
As part of this consultant's program, you are required to write a proposal to the marketing director and public relations director examining the different roles of advertising and marketing communications, as well as public relations. Examine the ideal way in which they should all work in concert together, and sometimes overlap each other, in their quest to reach defined goals and objectives.
In the proposal, do the following:
•Describe the different functions and responsibilities of the following people as they work in VMedia:
â—¦Advertising director
â—¦Marketing director
â—¦Public relations director
•Describe and explain how their contributions could each affect the overall success of the business.
•Provide examples of your own ideas (strategies, objectives, goals, executions, mediums, material types, etc.) of approach in each of the following areas for VMedia:
â—¦Marketing
â—¦Branding
â—¦Marketing communication
â—¦Advertising
â—¦Public relations
A good way to get started is by using the Internet to research actual job descriptions of these job titles and to examine their overall scope and differences in responsibilities and duties.
To sum it all up, you must determine whether each of the aforementioned positions (advertising director, marketing director, and public relations director) are relevant and necessary at VMedia, and based on that decision, you must explain what your creative ideas are for VMedia. Be specific in your ideas.
