  • Freedom is essential to all citizens. People enjoy their daily duties only if a country gives them freedom. Bondage, on the other hand, takes away the happiness of the people. It separates them from their loved ones, thus causing grief and stress in life. The Native Americans suffered in a foreign land, where they served other people. It may sound like a dream, but the reality remains that they did not take themselves to that place. They were instead forced to leave behind all what they had, to go to an unknown place, to serve other people. Their cries took a period of time, before their senior powers recognized that those people where suffering. The idea of independence did not actually mean what the native Americans thought. According to them, independence meant being free from the hands of their colonialists, and going back to their families. They thought that they would receive a lot of property after independence (Aptheker, 1972) According to them; they were to get good houses after the declaration of independence. It did not however happen as their expectation, since they had to work hard to earn a living. Things were not as easy as they thought. Instead, they had to struggle twice as much as they did before, to upkeep their already starved families. These Native Americans had a feeling that life without the colonies was better. They however took the advantage of the businesses, roads and other d4evelopment structures left behind by the colonialists. They had another advantage of knowing new things which they had no idea of before the colonialists cane. They therefore used this knowledge to develop their countries. For example, they used a better way of trading which helped them to earn a living without much struggle. Reference Aptheker, H. (Ed.). (1971).
