Making A Model of an Atom An extra credit assignment that is available is making a model of an atom. You will be graded on quality and difficulty. Quality - is the model 3 dimensional? Is the model robust? Will it stand up to being displayed? When hanging, does it retain its shape and is its shape correct? Does it contain a placard with your name and legend? Are the components of the atom identified on the placard? Difficulty - which atom did you make? A model of a hydrogen atom will not be worth as many points as a model of iron. Iron has many more protons, neutrons and electrons.
