Writing Assignment #4: Argument of Proposal 1. You must write a brief argument of proposal on the topic within the field of education. You may choose to choose to write a proposal to correct the problem over which you wrote your evaluation argument (Assignment #3), or you may choose to select another topic within the field of education. However, if you choose to change subjects, then you must email prior to beginning the paper to get your new subject approved. The finished final draft must be a minimum of four full pages in length. This means that your essay should end on page five or later (the Works Cited page does not count). 2. At a minimum, your argument must demonstrate the following characteristics: A. Be an argument and contain a thesis that proposes an actionable solution to a problem B. It must be directed at the future and must be directed at the appropriate audience C. You must clearly demonstrate that a viable problem exists that requires action D. You must provide precise procedures for implementing your proposal E. You must provide evidence that the proposal you are suggesting will resolve the problem and is the most viable solution F. You must demonstrate the solution is feasible 3. Other requirements: A. Your essay must contain a minimum of four secondary sources, three of which must be from distinctly different media/types. B. It must be properly formatted and documented in MLA form, including correct internal citations and a Works Cited page C. The first draft must be printed and turned in NLT April 15, 2016 D. This is a formal argument and may not be written from first person perspective to try to help you in the writing process.
