Creative Project Instructions: Your creative project submission has THREE parts: (1) the project itself, (2) a description of the project, and (3) a statement about how the project relates to one of the texts we've read or your experience reading the text. Your creative projects are fun projects that have a relationship to one of the texts we've read. So the projects are responses to your experience of reading the assigned texts OR they can be a response to something in the texts reminded you of something (perhaps a song or a place or an object). Or it could be about something you found interesting, funny, perplexing, for example, about the text. I've offered some examples in class such as someone submitting an actual apple pie and saying that it relates to the Euthyphro. Why? Because the Euthyphro is about piety. Get it? Pie-eh-tee. Or the student who provided a You Tube link of a song that bore some relation to the Crito. Or the student who submitted a drawing of scribbles which represented what his brain felt like when he read the Euthyphro. Things are all digital now, so if your project is a drawing or a painting, for instance, you'd upload the jpg of that. If you project is a letter you wrote to Crito telling him that he shouldn't lay a guilt trip Socrates, you'd upload that document or simply write your letter online. There are about 18 million different things you do for a creative project! Just have fun with it. There are no page limits, obviously. There is a file size limitation, though. So if your project is a video clip of you and your friends performing a rap about the Laws of Athens from the Crito, you might need to split the file up particularly if it is a really large file. I'm allowing up to 5 files to be submitted and a significant size is allowed for each file. If your project is text based, then the three parts of the submission (see above) can be on that one document file or you could just write it all online on iLearn. If it's a photo, for example, then you would upload the jpg and either write online or provide another file that describes what the project is (e.g., "My project is a photograph of the San Quentin prison") and states how the project relates to one of the texts we've read (e.g., "The photo of this prison reminds me of where Socrates is in the Crito because San Quentin is where state executions are performed in California.")
