Respond to one of the following Topics:
1. Write a letter in academic essay format to a scholarship committee composed of rich donors. Many students need this money, but the scholarship committee will only give the money to one student who convinces them that he or she is a good investment. In your essay/letter, you need to draw on facts from your own life to do both of the following:
discuss some of your accomplishments which demonstrate that you have been a good student in the past
discuss your future goals which demonstrate that you would be a good investment for the committee in the future.
2. Write a letter in academic essay format to an admissions committee composed of staff and administrators of a university that you want to transfer to. Many students want to attend this particular university, but there are not very many spots available, so they only want to offer transfer admission to the very most capable students. In your essay/letter, you need to draw on facts from your own life to do both of the following:
discuss some of your accomplishments which demonstrate that you have been a good student in the past
discuss your future study plan at that university which will demonstrate that you would be very capable of succeeding there academically.
