This proposal must be typed and include a compare/contrast chart, a discovery draft, and a brief description of the texts utilized and your central claim for the proposed essay. Compare/Contrast Chart: How are these texts different and how are they similar? Are there any differences in the similarities AND/OR similarities in the differences? Are these texts enough alike to draw comparisons? Are they different enough to find contrasts? Make a chart that compares and contrasts your texts. Discovery Draft: 300-400 words exploring the potential in your texts for your essay, just getting your draft started, or simply put discovering what your paper will be about by writing. This draft is not a first draft, it is not a rough draft, but instead it is putting your thoughts down on paper in order to be able to write a draft of the essay. Brief Description: Briefly describe each of your two texts (what claim is the author making, which appeals are used, who is the intended audience, etc.). How can you use this information from each text in order to make a claim about how they are similar or different? With this proposal, please also turn in a copy of your text. If it is a video or video clip, then please submit the link. Not doing so will result in a deduction of points.
