Pick one from two options: TV or Video Games. Option TV: You are to write an article concerning a television show. This is a feature article, and not necessarily a review article. You could, for example, write a profile piece on a television actor. Or you could examine an entire series of a show. You could even write about how original series on non-traditional-networks are doing. However, it is not a requirement for this assignment. I have made an online article required reading this week to give you an idea of a creative approach to writing about television. In this example, the author looks at common plot devices that many television shows have used. So, put your creative thinking cap on, and come up with a brilliant idea for the television writing assignment. Plan to write a 600 to 800 word article. Option VG: Review a piece of technology or a video game. It is up to you whether you will pick a piece of technology to write about, or a video game. It depends on which you feel more comfortable writing about. So the subject matter should be something of interest to you, but not necessarily about yourself. Plan to write a 600 to 800 word article. Again, it can be something of fairly wide appeal and that you would pitch to the general newspaper or magazine audience. Or it can be specific to a particular web site that focusses on technology and or video games. Perhaps you could take a look at one of our discussion questions for this week, and turn it into a feature article.
