Should college athletes be paid?
For each of these, I want the following:
A clear answer, given early in the paper.
An explanation of either the legal or policy context and changes. That is, if you think college athletes should be paid, explain how that ought to come about. Or, if you think LA's Olympic bid is good, explain the policies that makes it so.
A discussion of both your own position and alternative positions. Describe possible counterarguments, and discuss their limits or failings.
An argument, strongly rooted in textual evidence. There's no minimum number of sources and citations, but use 10 and 30 as a rule of thumb.
A persuasive argument.
I don't care about most formatting, for either the paper as a whole or your citations.
For outside sources, confine yourselves to cases, laws, and scholarly articles (peer-reviewed, law school reviews, or the such). Journalistic sources can be used for information, but not analysis. MUST HAVE AT LEAST 10 SOURCES.
