minists want women to have the same rights as those given to men. However, some people argue that feminists are taking things too far, and as a result, women are becoming too overconfident and beginning to see men as less than equal. They believe that women in todays world are now beginning to put their education and career first, and forgetting about starting a family, or even having children. But, the question is, should we expect women to be thinking of family and children, or is it their choice? Should women, like men, focus their time on their education and career? Worldwide figures show that divorce rates are at an all-time high. Could what we have discussed be a factor in this? You will explore these themes in your assignment. As part of the assignment you will: 1. Introduce what feminism is 3 marks 2. Discuss the positives/negatives of feminism 6 marks 3. Explain how women can use feminism positively in their lives without negatively affecting men and their rights 5 marks 4. Briefly mention Islam, and the equal rights of men and women 3 marks 5. Give your own opinion on this 3 marks TOTAL = 20 marks
