These websites have more red flags than an expert level game of minesweeper. One thing I want to mention before anything is how easy it is to lie on the internet. Say you go to a website and it says, "most recent research studies conducted by world renowned expert Dan Weddle state that rubbing juicy cucumbers on your armpits is the best way to cure cancer." Exaggerated, but there is no way to confirm anything on the internet. Call me crazy or paranoid or overly skeptical to the point of insanity, but when someone is researching a topic, what is more profitable? Having your results published in journals because you have significant data, or having your results rot? If you've got insignificant data, why not just fudge the results just a hair? So easy and no one would know. Anyways, these websites make egregious claims like using vitamins to treat cancer, using a culmination of pillows, blankets, and pressure imitating a womb to reconnect a child and a mother, and the idea of weight loss simply by listening to someone stating that you can do it. One website on subliminal tapes uses hundreds of positive anecdotal testimonials to promote products. Most of these websites don't have sources listed. 3. My thoughts are if you're dumb enough to believe some of this stuff then I hardly feel sorry for you. A ten year old girl died by suffocation because of attachment therapy yet it is still practiced. That seems insane to me. I don't personally have any experience with these products. I take a standard multivitamin that probably only results in expensive urine, and it definitely doesn't promise to cure cancer or heart disease like megavitamins.

  • I agree with you on the lies that are spread by the internet. The information given in most cases must go through verification. It tells what they want us to know but not what we need to know about the products that they purport to be selling. Simple, some of these acts are just mere marketing gimmicks or just ambitions to make money unscrupulously. I also agree that most internet sources do not have sources, and so quoting them may put any researcher or anybody else's in serious trouble. The implication is therefore that the information in the ads is misleading or the data just cooked. Therefore, the sources cannot be trusted
