Assignment: Process Analysis or Classification Essay Write a 5 to 8 paragraph essay using either process analysis or classification/division as your primary organization strategy. The following tips will lead to a successful essay. A key component of this assignment is determining whether you will need outside research to support your thesis or point of view. Your topic should be one you are familiar with or one you are interested in exploring. Be certain that your topic fits the strategy you select process analysis or classification. You may incorporate headings into the essay if appropriate. Dont neglect the conclusion still need to provide an overall summary and final thought. The process analysis essay should not be a list of steps rather it should be a description of the stages. In the classification essay each division or class must be distinct (avoid ambiguity) and avoid too many or too few categories (3 to 6 is recommended). Draft of Essay due on Week 4 Must be typed and double spaced and two printed copies brought to class at the beginning of the class period. Peer and instructor review will occur during our class meeting. Failure to have a complete draft will lead to a reduction in points. If draft is emailed to instructor but you are not present for reviews points will be reduced. Final Essay Week 5 Must be submitted to Dropbox.
