2. Project 2: Design of a two-story storage warehouse

Proposed Location: To be determined

Description:
A major retail company has recently acquired the property described to build a two-story storage building. The building must be designed to support the stored merchandise in addition to forklifts and other heavy Machinery that can by on either floor. The stored merchandise is non inflammable nor corrosive. Truck access must be incorporated in the design. Although the owners require the maximum economy in design, they also require incorporating maximum green features in the design. The teams task is to come up with the conceptual design for the property. Design the structure to support the given loads, design the parking lot and the water management on the site. An itemized cost estimate for completing the project is also required. An account of all green features incorporated in the design should also be included.
