  • im not sure if the reference links are working for you but if they are not google search "university of houston library" and then go to databases, select the letter "p" and then scroll down until you find "PsycInfo" and click on that. it will tell you to type in keywords to narrow you search so type in "high stress levels" in the first box and then "alcohol abuse" in the box under that because my topic is "the effects of high stress levels on alcohol abuse." its going to bring you to a list of research papers. the titles of the research papers that i chose are "Do causes of stress differ in their association with problem drinking by sex in Korean adolescents?" , "The stress-response dampening hypothesis: How self-esteem and stress act as mechanisms between negative parental bonds and alcohol-related problems in emerging adulthood" , "The good, the bad, and the ugly with alcohol use and abuse on the heart." , "Does perceived life stress mediate the association between HIV status and alcohol use? Evidence from adults living in Cape Town, South Africa." and "High-risk drinking and academic performance among college student veterans."
