Some things: 1) Of course, use a full, proper heading for the finished version, as per the RAP Guidelines. 2) Adding some quotes is useful, but a standard way to introduce quotes would be something like this: According to Smith and Jones, "Quote quote quote" (Smith and Jones). Or "Smith and Jones say" or so on -- this is better than things like "These two say" or so on. Also, when in doubt, put a ( ) citation after the end of the sentence in which the quote appears -- it's just standard practice to keep the text clear. (You tend to add the ( ) citation right away and then add the quote.) 3) You mention the "SMART principle" -- explain that to an average reader: what does SMART stand for? You can simply do it in the fashion of this sample sentence: "Joe Somebody said something about the NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) but forgot to write it down." I.e. just write out what the acronym means in parentheses. If it needs further explaining, you can add that as a phrase (probably separated by commas) coming after the parentheses.
