Question 1: What role should religious conviction play in the formation of social ethics in modern, western culture? In other words, how should religious conviction (from any tradition) function with regard to the way a modern society develops morally focused social policy?

Question 2: In light of your response to question 1, and reflecting on the diverse points of discussion from the course, where would you "locate" social ethics? What should be the basis or logic of moral social policy for a modern western state? What pivotal convictions should be considered? What moral logic should be employed?
