  • hi this is an example >; With the LightTUBe case, this can be considered a bad and good investment. In my opinion, i believe this was a good economical decision but may have some ethical issues. Currently, for 1Gb download speeds, it is roughly $80 a month. Compared to what the prices are in morehead, for a very big fraction of the speed, the cost is very good. Unfortunately, the fact that they used public funds without discussing it with the community can have some negative feedback to it. Including, within the private sector, this undermines the ability for companies to prosper within that place. From a certain standpoint, for the government undermining the private sector, this too can be a bad thing. When looking at the cost and benefits it can be seen as so; Since the utilities and other services run on one line, there is no extra cost to put up separate lines. Being the case, since fiber optics are more expensive to put up then regular lines, there is some extra costs there. Being that this is a 'hybrid' operation certain tools can be used to analyze this. This can be used with a segmenting model. Here, you can look at all the costs and benefits on every level and determine how good of an investment this really was.
