You are a paralegal at the Florida National Law Group. A client comes into the office and the attorney assigns you to help her in conducting the initial interview with the client. The client, named Marie Owens, is seeking legal counsel and asks the law firm to help her determine what legal avenues she may have. Marie Owens purchased land to build a supermarket on from GYH, Inc. for the price of $300,00.00. The sale appeared to have gone through without issue, so she contracted Best Builders, Inc. to construct the actual building that was to house the supermarket. Best Builders, Inc. charged Ms. Owens $400,000.00 for the total building project.   • You must write a memorandum addressing the following issues: (a) describing the type of information that you must obtain from Ms. Owens in your interview and describing what steps must be taken to properly prepare for the same, (b) describing what ethical rules must be followed by the law firm in this case, (c) describing what is the next step in the law suit of Best Builders, Inc v. Marie Owens (what pleading must be prepared and how is/are it/they prepared?); (d) explaining whether there should be any cross-claims, counter-claims or third party complaints filed in the case and against whom (make sure to include the format for these), (e) explaining the format for any motions that need to be filed in the case, and (f) explaining what the discovery process would probably look like in this particular case.
