Using the information found in chapter 2 of your textbook, describe the material conditions of enslaved Africans during the time of European colonial expansion. Focus your analysis on Trading enslaved Africans, The Middle Passage, slavery in both the Caribbean and the main lands, and slave societies (this should include communities established by enslaved Africans. Not merely those created by enslavers. Use information from the documentary shown in class as well as Courlander's The African to either support the account provided in the textbook or to challenge (Explain why each source, in your opinion, supports or challenges the information found in your textbook). Give at least 3 examples of each supplemental source. Please site your sources where appropriate. After you have completed your analysis, read the remarks of at least 2 of your classmates and respond meaningfully to some aspect of their essays. Please avoid mere praise.
