Research Paper For this assignment, you will respond to the ongoing debate over Confederate monuments in the U.S. At last, the time has come for your “I say” to join the “they say” work you’ve been doing all semester. In your paper, you will construct your own well-supported argument about what should be done about the nation’s Confederate statues, applying the strategies and techniques you have learned this semester. The goal of your paper is to convince the audience that your argument is valid and defensible by applying critical thought and research skills in support of your claims, substantiating those claims with reasoning and evidence and providing all necessary contextual information and background for your reader. You must, in short, prove to the audience that you actually know what you are writing about as you proceed to assert, explain, and defend your position on the statues. 5-7 pages (not including References), double-spaced APA format: 12 points, Times New Roman font,
