• As described in Chapter 19 of the text, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Bill Richardson may or may not haveused a decoy approach when negotiating with Muslim dictator Saddam Hussein. Richardson claims to have done that by accident. But what do you think?

• Suggest two (2) strategies that a negotiator may use to appear unaware of the details involved in the negotiation process, and explain the strengths of each strategy for the individual using this method of negotiation. Provide a rationale for your response.
• Suppose you are a member of a negotiations team. You realize that negotiators on the U.S. government side are using a method that will likely win a negotiation, and you realize that you may end up having to accept an offer that is not in your best interest. Describe two (2) methods that your team could employ to counter the U.S. government negotiator’s offer, so you are not placed in a situation of losing money for organization in which you represent.
