Assignment 2: Annotated Web Sites
As educators, students, parents, and the community trust us to offer fair and just instructional practices to ensure student success. In today’s society, our best efforts may be impacted or enhanced by the information disseminated via Web sites and other social media. Since most people trust the brief snippets of information found on the Internet as truth, it is important that you are aware of the common information that is readily available.
Complete the following:
Surf the Internet and find Web sites of your choice that combine social justice issues with PK–12 issues. Be sure that you do not use Wikipedia as a source.
Review a total of ten-to-fifteen Web sites related to any or a few of the following subjects:
Sexism
Heterosexism
Racism
Classism
Religious oppression
Immigrant student issues
Provide a brief summary of the Web sites you visited. Here are a few guidelines you can consider as you critically review and summarize the sites. You need not follow all the guidelines listed here.

Identify the value-laden terms or words presented on the Web sites.
Discuss how others might respond to the message or information presented on the sites. Are the Web sites or organizations refuting or supporting the issue? What evidence is given?
Discuss the way in which the Web sites might enhance or hinder the dissemination of educational information.
Explain whether the Web site’s content supports social justice. Support your response with evidence.
